We all look forward to the annual art show at the Island Inn, Monhegan, Maine. The owners of the Lupine Gallery on Monhegan transform the dining room of the inn into a stunning art mecca each year. It is so exciting to walk into the dining room and see the art displayed so masterfully. Absolutely gorgeous paintings this year by artist Caleb Stone. It’s also a treat to be eating in the dining room at the Inn with a breathtaking view both inside and out!

This year’s show runs through October 10, 2021 – so most of you heading to the island will be able to see it at the Island Inn (and purchase the art as well!) – Any questions, contact the Lupine Gallery (another “must see” spot to head to on the island!) – Read a little blip about the Lupine Gallery (and click HERE to read in its entirety!)

Established in 1985 by husband and wife team Bill Boynton and Jackie Boegel, Lupine Gallery is at the heart of the vibrant and historic art community of Monhegan Island. The gallery is located on the main village road and just up the hill from the town wharf.  We are open from 11 am- 4:30 pm, seven days a week, from May into October, and are available during the off-season by chance or appointment.  We live year round on Monhegan, and welcome your call or email anytime. Contact us by phone at 207-594-8131 or via email.

Note: You do not have to be present to purchase these paintings, contact Jackie or Bill via the phone number or email address above with any questions about any of the paintings you may be interesting in. Click the Preview link below to view the paintings that are part of this year’s show!

A bit about the artist, Caleb Stone, from the Lupine Gallery website:

Caleb Stone, a native of the art colony of Rockport, Massachusetts, began drawing at age four, painting at seven, and attending professional artists’ workshops by the time he was twelve. He completed his academic training at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, and enjoyed many years of plein air landscape painting with his father, Don Stone N.A. His affinity for the French and American Impressionists and his choice of art as a career grew from and was nurtured by this rich environment.

Another lifelong influence has been his connection to Monhegan Island, where he has returned annually for many years to paint and to teach his popular workshops in watercolor and oil painting. His workshops are offered throughout the year in locations including Monhegan, Cape Ann, Tuscany and England.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the John Stobart Fellowship Award, the New England Heritage Award, the Wood Award for Excellence in Watercolor, the Land and Light Show Gold Medal, Best in Show Manchester by the Sea, and is an Elected Artist at the Lyme Art Association.

The exhibit will be on view throughout the 2021 season, from May 28 until October 10.
