Do you love the mountains? Specifically the Great Smoky Mountains National Park… a place near and dear to our hearts. Where the view goes on for miles and miles. A place so peaceful and beautiful that it’s where you can take a deep breath and let your should slink down a bit… If you (or someone you know) loves the mountains – I have a great gift idea for you!

Friends of the Smokies has a great website. They do a lot of fundraising for important projects to keep the park in tip top shape, keep the trails clear and provide lifesaving equipment for Search and Rescue teams. The Smokies covers quite a large territory (over 522,000 acres divided between Tennessee and North Carolina) – so their list is never ending.

Great things are done when men and mountains meet.

Isn’t that the truth? If we don’t do something to save what is so special (i.e. National Forests, historic buildings, the character and charm of older neighborhoods, grand trees, etc.) it will all be gone and once it’s gone – it’s gone – and that’s an awful thought. #doyourpart
