The Laurel Cottage Plan by C. Brandon Ingram!

Laurel Cottage by

This is the Laurel Cottage designed by C. Brandon Ingram. This 992 square foot, two bedroom, two bathroom home has so much class. The design is stunning. Details make it look like a home built long, long ago. To have what looks like a older home in perfect condition with all the modern amenities is a dream come true!

I love the wonderful front porch and the screened porch on the back of this plan. I can imagine using it so often and enjoying every single minute!

The interior of the Laurel Cottage is dreamy. Perfect for elderly parents or relatives to move in and have their own space. The bedrooms are almost identical with a very nice closet and linen closet as well as a bathroom. One bathroom has a tub, the other has a shower. Even though this home is only 992 square feet, it’s designed to feel much larger!

The center of the home is the living, dining, kitchen. Having an open design allows interaction from one room to another but for a smaller home it also makes it feel a bit larger. The living area has 11′ ceilings, and 10′ ceilings elsewhere. A tall ceiling adds such elegance and also the feeling that this is an older home that has been very well maintained! I urge you to check out C. Brandon Ingram’s website – be sure to check out some of the other homes he has built. Stunning!

Perfect except there isn’t a laundry room. Nobody wants to go to a laundromat. I would add a combo laundry/pantry behind the kitchen and then the porch. Then it would be perfect!

      2. Agree, a laundry is a necessity (for me too). If you really like this plan you can have an architect modify it. “If you would like to have a local architect, designer, or builder modify the Design, please purchase the PDF option above.” Hope that helps.

Perfection! My kind of dream home ! Thank you Mr. Ingram for your obvious devotion to your talent and application thereof. Thank you also for for a return to grace , style , and yes even manners which is a part of each square foot .
I do hope and pray to own Laurel Cottage . What immense joy that would be.

    1. This is a stunning plan! It feels so much larger because of the layout. A beautiful home that looks like it was built long ago and kept in perfect condition. You have good taste! Would love to see a photo after you build! Wishing you the best, thanks for commenting – Happy Thanksgiving!

      1. Hey Kathy, no, I did not build this home (or any other). My husband and I live in an older home that we love. However, we have always been a fan of house plans and love to dream. This plan is a winner!!

I emailed the designer about the mechanical room, etc. He said that the washer/dryer is an over/under type and is in the kitchen and the water heater, a/c and heater is in the attic.

looks grate , however i doubt the size being stated as 992 , by the simple look at the left and right bed rooms , which are so my guess in the neighborhood of 260 square foot each .

to me its + – 1700 square feet villa

    1. Where’s the laundry? Well, I just reread that post, it’s been a while since I shared that wonderful plan by C. Brandon Ingram (for Southern Living) – great article in SL, skip down to number 6, Secret Storage… any questions after that, please contact Southern Living directly (I only feature house plans, I do not create them and do not want to pass along erroneous information). This is one hot plan!
