Camellias! These stunning beauties are giving quite the show here in Charleston, SC. So many different varieties, each standing out and commanding attention. Some camellias are towering and blowing in the wind, they look as happy as can be. I saw the most beautiful bowl…

(you’ve probably seen them as well), a gorgeous cut glass bowl, filled with water and floating camellias. What a statement that makes!

There was the sweetest woman who used to live a block over from us, we would see her out in her yard collecting her many camellias – she filled a cardboard box top and gave them to us, told us to take them home and float them in water. Absolutely gorgeous! I’ll never forget her – thank you Mrs. Bell!

Charleston, SC – where something is always blooming, even when it’s not supposed to be! It’s the beauty of living here.
