Carley Fortune. I love her writing style. This book has the best setting. In my mind it’s like a Dirty Dancing resort, very nice, but in a charming way. The characters are fabulous although imperfect like the rest of us. Two people with an undeniable connection – but… Trust me, it’s a good one! A book review is akin to an art review. Each of us is different and our likes and dislike vary (extremely), so what one of us loves another will dislike just as much.
Elin wrote this book with her daughter, Shelby Cunningham. Which is quite a cool thing to do. I’ve read several articles where Elin says this is not a young adult book. And while this book wasn’t my typical cup of tea, it was well written and kept my interest. So if you’re unsure, borrow it from a friend or the library and see how you like it. And if you like it… there is a sequel THE THOROUGHBREADS coming September of 2026!

Coming Soon Book Alert! Jennifer Weiner has a new book coming out April 2025. The image was an Advanced Reader’s Edition, so it’s not the actual cover – you can see it now, it has been released since. I love book reviews, and rely on them to see if a book is something I’m looking for (or not). I don’t read any spoilers, and I don’t even read the back of the book or the description completely – I don’t want to know anything, but I do – It’s complicated, ha.
