When I’m out walking I’m always looking up to see what I see. Cool cloud formations, birds flying, golden light against tree limbs, etc. In this case – does this not look a little spear-like? Hence my motto, always look up! #avoid

This likely happened in a storm – I’ve seen it like this for a while now and it hasn’t budged, so that’s reassuring. Are you someone who always looks up, who takes in everything around you, or are you just trying to get from Point A to Point B? As they say, it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. So if you can slow down and take in what’s around you – take that opportunity! Sometimes it’s unavoidable, with deadlines, obligations, etc. but sometimes you have to train yourself to think differently and to take the extra second or two to look up, slow down, take in the little things and be thankful.

Whew, this is a hot week – I should say ANOTHER hot week. I grew up in Michigan, i’ve lived in South Carolina for 34 years now (I must have moved here as a mere baby!) and the heat and humidity doesn’t get any easier to take. #coolmountainairwouldbenice

Stay cool, drink a lot of water, stay in the shade. If you’re in an area where high heat indexes are forecast limit your time outside. And drink (water), drink, drink!
