Exquisite, right? These gorgeous pink blooms are rhododendrons – this photo was taken last year about this same time. Absolutely breathtaking! The mountains make such a beautiful backdrop, don’t they?

Last year, at this time we were at The Swag in Waynesville, SC – a gorgeous property with so many beautiful features from the design, the breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and more. Trails upon trails to hike, fireplaces so massive and going constantly. It’s funny to think it can be warm in Charleston and just three hours away (thanks to the altitude being 5,000′) in cozy Waynesville, NC there can be that big of a temperature drop!

Actually, as you enter the gates and ascend up to the Swag welcome center the temp keeps dropping – it’s exquisite and jaw dropping and I LOVE IT! There’s something about cooler weather. Everyone feels better. Warm weather is not conducive to a good time for me. Chilly weather, rain, snow, sleet or hail – I’m good. I feel so fortunate to have seen this view while everything was blooming so radiantly.
