Fathers Day… Love you dad!

Christmas Eve 2008 – Michigan

Years ago, Fred’s parents traveled to Michigan to spend Christmas with my family. It was wonderful. They arrived to a big snow storm. If you’re from SC a snow is as exciting as it gets. I’ll never forget this year. This photo of our dads was taken at my sister’s house. It’s a little blurry (taken with a real camera – no phones at that time). My dad on the left, Fred’s dad pictured on the right.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Happy Memories to those of you who have lost your father, Happy Future to those of you still waiting to become a father, and Happy Person to those of you who have chosen not to, but may help with a family or friend’s children. It takes a village to raise a good kid.

🙏Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I love you more than words can say, but I think you know that. You have been an inspiration to me from as far back as I can remember. I remember the day of your father’s funeral, I was so young. You and mom were getting ready to go to the funeral and a babysitter was on the way. I was kneeling by my bed saying a prayer for grandpa. The horrible thought hit, that if grandpa can leave this earth then so can you. Tears were pouring down my face, you walked in the room and asked if I was ok. I told you I was worried that you could one day be gone. You told me not to worry, you were never going anywhere. Not to worry? Oh, okay! Then I was fine. A big load off. So no pressure, but I’m holding you to it. You didn’t think my little 4 or 5 year old mind would remember, but I can remember exactly – like it just happened. Funny the memories we hold on to. Even at that young age I knew it was an important one!

This photo was from 2016 when my parents came to Charleston to visit and we all got together. Two blurry photos, but two wonderful memories… (Fred’s dad on the left, my dad on the right with glasses).

🕊️I would like to wish a Happy Heavenly Father’s Day to my father-in-law – this is a tough Father’s day (less than two weeks without him), no doubt. You were an amazing dad and in turn Fred has turned out to be the best of the best. Thank you for that.

We love you both of our dads, and no matter where they are that love will never end.

XO, me
