Joanna Gaines Banana Bread Is A Hit!

Joanna Gaines banana bread recipe baked and on a cake plate, two halloween gourds, rustic table, sunlight

I ran across this recipe and it’s a change for me, I don’t usually use this much butter, but after watching this show (details below), I was hooked, especially since I had a banana that was beyond ready. It’s fun to try different recipes, especially when you have time. This was a delight!

I was watching Joanna Gaines new show, Magnolia Table: At the Farm, the other night and it was fabulous. Joanna made two wonderful recipes, and I pulled the links up and also sent to a few people – knowing it’s something they might enjoy. I got around to making the banana bread and wow. It’s fabulous! Here’s how to make it, link below to the Magnolia website to print!

JOANNA GAINES BANANA BREAD

  • 1 stick (salted) butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar (I very lightly packed)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
  • 4-5 very ripe bananas, mashed (can be a little chunky)
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon koser salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1-2 tablespoons granulated sugar to sprinkle on top (I used less)

Preheat oven to 350℉. Butter an 8×8″ square pan (I used a 9″ round and baked it for less time).

In a large bowl beat together the butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Add the bananas and mix until combined.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and beat just until combined. Add pecans (if using) and mix until combined.

Pour the batter into a prepared pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top. Joanna covers the entire surface with sugar. I lightly sprinkled less than half the sugar.

Bake until a cake tester comes out clean (in the center). 35-50 minutes depending on size of pan and your oven. I think mine was ready in about 30-35 minutes…

Once completely cooled, you can cover with foil and leave on counter two days.

🍽️ Until next time…

✨ Take a moment to be grateful for at least one thing today – TODAY will be a good day, you’ve got this!
