Dahlias are gorgeous flowers, aren’t they? They really are utter perfection. This photo was taken several years ago on Monhegan Island (Maine). Absolutely stunning! I fell in love with the bushes of dahlias planted strategically – they looked as if they had always been there. Colorful, stunning blooms!

Now, I want to grow dahlias here in Charleston. Wouldn’t that be magnificent? I read about these tips from Southern Living for planting Dahlias, would love to give it a try! I was surprised to learn that they like Zone 9, which is tropical. I guess the only place I’ve noticed them is Maine and maybe, Michigan!

Woohoo! This is exciting… a new venture to give a whirl, ha ha.
