Charleston, SC – with so many alluring vistas – from natural parks to oceanfront beaches – marshes and wildlife – stunning flora and wonderful scents wafting through the air – it’s a magical place to be! I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place that has so much to offer. I’ll give you a few of my favorites (in case you’ve never visited Charleston before)…
Sights to see…
- Botany Bay (Edisto Island area) is a gorgeous wildlife sanctuary – where you can visit “Boneyard Beach” (a beach that has been left as is – it’s stunning!), walk the trails, check out the ruins of the plantation and its outbuildings, and so much more (click to read more – especially the HISTORY!)
- Charleston Tea Garden (Wadmalaw Island) – it’s the only tea garden in North America – and you will see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes – acre after acre – it’s amazing. No admission fee. They have an excellent gift shop (EXCELLENT!!!!) and the option to take a trolley tour (there is an admission fee for this). You can walk through and take a tour of exactly how the tea is made, by walking through their production building – it’s an excellent tour!
- Downtown Charleston, of course! Take a ride through downtown, find a place to park (they keep up with parking, so beware!) and then take a walk and see for yourself the many fine homes, gorgeous architecture, wonderful places to eat, shop, etc.
- Pitt Street Bridge – Mt. Pleasant, SC – cool place to walk around and DEFINITELY a great place to take photos when there’s a good sunset! PS, you can also take your dog!
- Sullivans Island – the beach… beautiful area – gorgeous homes! (Other great beaches, Isle of Palms, Folly, Kiawah and Seabrook -all are wonderful in their own way…
These are just a few favorites – if you’ve visited Charleston, SC in the past OR if you live here, what are some of your favorite places? Where do you like to take friends and family who visit? Let me know!
👩💻 Until next time…
