Gift Idea for the cook in your life!

Do you have someone on your list who loves to cook (or perhaps a gift to yourself)? For those who make soups and a variety of other recipes they can be elevated to another level with the use of one simple tool? Do I have an idea for you! It feels #fancy to blend soup so that it looks (and tastes!) like a restaurant soup you may love. This is the one I purchased…

This is the Cuisnart Smart Stick Immersion Blender. It’s a two speed blender that you can use for soups, sauces, homemade mayo, hot chocolate. It’s easy to use, and cleans up like a dream. What’s not to love, right? The first soup recipe I tried was the Mulligatawny Soup, with an interesting selection of ingredients like apple, tomato, onion, celery, carrot, jalapeño, ginger, garlic, any array of spices (curry, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, thyme, pepper), red lentils, chicken stock, coconut milk… and ohmygosh, the end result, was out of this world. I’ve since made a wonderful broccoli cheddar (recipe coming soon!), wow – not like Panera (cheese soup with a bit of broccoli that everyone loves), this had cheese but it had a good bit of broccoli.

I just made another soup that is #outofthisworld (no wonder it has over 24,000 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews!!) Another recipe coming soon! #cantwait

The first time I used the immersion blender there was suction to the bottom of the pot and it spit all over the place. I’ve since watched videos that tell you how to avoid that potential disaster. You hold it at a bit of an angle. If the soup isn’t deep in the pot (it wasn’t) then tilt the pan so that it’s deeper and that worked like a charm. It pays to watch the videos.

🍜 Until next time…
