Happy Summer Solstice!

The Summer Solstice is today, at 4:51 PM to be exact… This is the longest day of the year, from here on out the days get shorter. (Happy dance!) I like shorter days. 20 hours of sunshine is just a little too much for me.

I’m the one cheering when it starts to rain or get cloudy. Definitely in the minority but I’m good with that. I definitely see the appeal of long sunny days, especially for those who work outside (my first thought is plein air artists) – and I feel for those who do hard labor in the summertime – on the roofs, digging trenches for fiber optic cables, etc. – it’s beyond tough work. Read some interesting facts about the Summer Solstice HERE, from Almanac.com! #whoknew! I love reading the facts, so interesting!

Happy first day of summer going astrologically – if you go by meteorology, first day of summer is June 1. Cool info, right? Read the link above  😉 – happy summer!

☀️ Until next time…

I feel the same about the overload of sunshine. I am usually tired by 7 p.m., but so much light in the evenings feels odd.

We head to Maine this evening. We do not drive in the dark, but one good thing about the evening light is that it allows driving times in slightly cooler temps. We will get on the road about 6:30 p.m.
