My husband loves cake. LOVES cake! Photo is a cake we brought home on a trip a few years ago (details below) – it was fabulous (and I am *gasp* not a cake person)! This year we simply cannot eat an entire cake, so instead we’ll head to a good bakery for an assortment of cupcakes for him. I have plenty of candles and can sing Happy Birthday with each cupcake (haha – KIDDING!)…

We celebrated Fred’s birthday a little before his birthday a few years ago. The day before we left, the staff at The Swag came out and sang 🎶 Happy Birthday 🎶 and brought this cake. We were so full we didn’t cut into it, they wrapped it beautifully and we brought it home the next day. I think this was Fred’s favorite, most memorable cake by far.

I wrote this years ago, but it still rings true so perfectly. I had forgotten about it and well, it’s pretty much what I would have come up with if I gave it another whirl!

This is one super special birthday – and happy you’ve finally caught up to me, ha ha. 🙌
