Book Suggestion: The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center – What a delight!

The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center

Caution! This book will make you smile. I didn’t know what to expect because I hadn’t read a book by Katherine Center prior to this book. I was thrilled. It sucked you in. You know what a treasure it is to try a new (to you) author? One, who’s books you love and see that they they’ve written quite a few more? Woohoo! It’s the best feeling ever.

The Rom-Commers, a New York Times Best Seller. Highly recommend. Katherine Center is known to write joyful books. The Rom-Commers is on many “Best Of” lists and for good reason. You will start on page 1 and not want to put it down. Katherine wants us all to read for joy. When you pick up her books and begin to read you’ll be doing just that! You’ll be reading for joy. The reviews are stellar.

Special note, this book is beautiful! I bought the hardcover and it’s bright and colorful. The edges of the pages are a bright pink – such a surprise. The end pages (when you open the cover) are a beautiful design. That was quite a treat all by itself.

Story info below from Katherine Center’s website (see link):

She’s rewriting his love story. But can she rewrite her own?

Charlie Yates is a great writer. He wrote the epic screenplay that made Jack Stapleton a household name—and became a household name himself. But now he’s written a romantic comedy . . . and it’s terrible.

Emma Wheeler could have been a great writer—but her life didn’t quite go like she planned. Now, when she gets the chance to rewrite Charlie’s apocalyptically bad screenplay—uncredited, of course—she jumps.

But Charlie doesn’t want anyone to rewrite his work—least of all a “failed nobody screenwriter”—and Emma can’t support a guy who doesn’t like rom-coms adding another terrible rom-com to the world.

So what choice do they have, really . . . but to fall stupidly, crazily, heart-poundingly in love?

My review on Goodreads:

I just finished my first book by Katherine Center, The Rom-Commers. I devoured it. What a joy it was. The characters were different and so interesting. Ups and downs. Highs and lows. Emma, caring for her father, who is a joy – but she can’t leave him alone. I love that she’s happy to do it while her sister is in school. Then she, a struggling screenwriter gets a big break. Or thinks she does. Will it turn out to be what she hopes? Read The Rom-Commers to find out. This book is pure joy. You’ll fly through it despite trying to slow down to save it. I look forward to reading Katherine’s other books!
BONUS: I bought the hardback and it’s gorgeous! Book edges are stunningly painted bright pink, what a surprise that was. Interior (endpapers) were a gorgeous design – what an unexpected surprise. The cover is bright and happy, just like this book. 5 ⭐️  all the way!

📚 Until next time…
