Well we made it to Michigan a while back, had a quick visit with my family. It’s always so good to see them. Too short no matter how long it is. I’ve been in Charleston over 36 years, wow, time flies! I love Michigan and all it has to offer. So many places to visit and check out. You can literally sit on the porch all day and never tire of the view. It’s constantly changing…
Boats, fisherman, jet skis, kayakers, swans, fish jumping, kids floating by (the current is quite fun as a kid), swimmers, sailboats, and the occasional something floating by that must have blown into the water. Good times. Reminds me of when I was a kid. We spent nearly the entire day in the water. Jump in swim, then walk down to Henry’s Restaurant on the corner (no longer there), jump in the water and float home. Winter is a bit different. I remember as a kid, standing near the water, but not too close, you have to respect it. The ice would pile high and jam the river. The loud noise of the ice crunching one large piece against another was mesmerizing. When the sun would pop out and temps warm a bit it would start flowing with the current once again. Freighters navigate on the other side of a small island between my parents and Canada in the shipping lanes. Read about the St. Clair River HERE, it’s fascinating! Beautiful area and watching the river is far better than TV any day!
👩💻 Until next time…
