Sunflowers are so interesting and so perfect for an August post. We had a young entrepreneur in our neighborhood selling sunflowers (for a great price) a while back. I snapped a photo of the sunflower as it turned to look out the front window. They have such charisma.

So, as I write this on July 28 (Monday) it is hideously hot. Dangerous and it makes you feel as if you may melt in a nanosecond. Last I heard it felt like 113℉ (in the SHADE) – which is the actual temperature + the dew point which = the “feel like” temp.

What do you have planned for this wonderful August? I’m hoping for a cool spell (or a cold blast!) for the next several months, which has never happened here in Charleston, SC. One can always hope!

Grab a bunch of sunflowers from a young neighbor who may be selling or even from the local grocery store. They’re so happy!
