How miraculous it is to think that you move to a new area, you meet people, but no one that is “the one”. Then one day you’re dog sitting for a friend who got a new puppy and failed to tell you. You hop out of your car after seeing this dashing man, drive past my friends house, wave and enter his house. Shortly after he was on his front porch in his running clothes. TIME TO MEET HIM. Which is not like me. At all. I bid my friends farewell, grabbed hold of the leash and walked the puppy (who had never been on a leash) a few doors down. The puppy walked right up to Fred and sat at his feet. We talked for a bit and he asked me if I’d like to come over. I went on a tour of his house, carefully noting his last name that was on his degree.

I woke that Sunday (Easter) and found a large bunny on the front door in a beautiful gift bag. I thought to myself, my friend is very fortunate to have people dropping off gifts for her. I walked it inside and set it on her table. Walked back outside to get the newspaper and thought HMMMMM??? Could it be for ME? No. Yes? No. Check… So I took a peek at the card – BARBARA – what?!!!! #happydance

We’ve been together ever since. That was 35+ years ago!

So when you think you’ll never find your person. It will happen when you least expect it. It did for us.
