We bought our house 31 years ago. It’s been our safe haven, our calm from the storm – our place of happiness for that long. We are ready for new adventures – and have sold our beautiful home and made the trek to Michigan! This is the last photo we took in our house. September 1, 2026 3:15PM. We are utterly exhausted from packing, moving, clearing, and cleaning. We scrubbed hard all day to make 23 Stocker the best it could be for the new owner. I hope they love it as much as we did. I have about 30,000 photos of this house – it’ll always be one of our best memories!

Michigan has some of the nicest people – I notice when we run to the store, most are smiling, and so friendly. The weather has been beautiful (except for move in day – which temp-wise was fine but the rain POURED while the guys from Smooth Move in Charleston, SC unloaded our truck. BTW – if you’re in Charleston, SC and reading this – and looking for a mover – we highly recommend Smooth Move. The things we couldn’t figure how to wrap they came in and in a few hours everything was ready to go. Friendly guys who really know what they’re doing (and they’ve been doing it for a long time!). Our items survived the move just fine in their capable hands.

We moved to a beautiful, very walkable neighborhood just a short walk to restaurants, Trader Joe’s, Kroger and “the Village” full of shops we can’t wait to explore.

More soon, but I just wanted y’all to know why i’ve been missing for a while… a lot of life to unpack and we’re in a temporary spot for now our place will be ready soon (within the next month maybe). No worries, life is good and we are grateful.
