This is a familiar scene. St. John’s Marsh near Algonac, MI. We pass it going back and forth to visit my family. When we arrived it was warm, but nothing like the day we moved out of our house in Charleston, SC where the “feel like” temp was 108℉ and every one of us was soaking wet. The movers (bless them) moving, Fred and I helping + cleaning + getting everything ready for the new owner. We were beyond exhausted (as the previous image showed). We got on the road late in the afternoon and made our way to Michigan. S l o w l y . . .

When we arrived at our interim place (next place not quite ready yet, no complaints, where we are is very nice!) the A/C wasn’t on and it was 88℉ – finally figured out the digital thermometer and the house finally cooled off. We’ve never had this much room. It’s exciting. We’ll have room until we move into our next place and then it’ll be much smaller, but so very cool!

For now we are enjoying the walks, visiting different stores, food, cooking, organizing our stuff and currently waiting on a rainy day to go back through things so that when we make our next move we’ll be ready to roll. We had a cool night the other evening, therefore pulling out the polar fleece was a requirement. NO complaints here! Happy to do so.

Hope to get better about posting in the near future. Have been so busy with so much, but it’ll all calm down soon. I haven’t cooked much other than to make black bean quesadillas – haha…
