Gut feelings – always to be trusted. You just never know. Our older dog had been slowing down, then more recently had some medical issues that turned out to be cancer. This day he seemed out of sorts. So I picked him up and held him and we looked outside through our sunroom windows which has been our sanctuary.

Saying Goodbye Is Never Easy…

Charlie, who has lived with us for almost 15 years has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. His personality was larger than life and he will be missed forever. I had to write a post on a blog I started when we first brought Charlie home. He wouldn’t rest unless he was right next to me. He would hop up in a chair, then I would sit and with his back to the chair (sitting up) he would press his feet into my back. There we would sit while he napped. He is the reason I started a blog (Life with Charlie) all those years ago. That blog morphed into artfoodhome.com – I still cherish his beasty ways – he was the best dog ever!
