It’s always so exciting just getting to this point. To the point where you see the “Welcome to Port Clyde” sign hanging as you get ready to board the boat to Monhegan Island. Peace and tranquility are coming soon! The long days spent walking, eating, watching are on their way, woohoo!
It can be a challenge sometimes to actually get to the island, but once there, you forget about everything.
Everyone needs to forget the outside world for a bit – restore your sanity!
Such a special place!

The remoteness is great, though it’s part of the reason we haven’t been able to make it back for a while. One of our favourite places!

I agree Andrew, it takes some planning to get there… we always leave the day before and then fly home the day after just because you never know what the weather will be – would hate to miss our flight, especially because we cannot fly ourselves like you can, ha ha… 😉

Haha Yes our last trip was like that with air b&b stays in Rockland. I keep telling Michael at the Island Inn that someday I want to land a seaplane there!

A beautiful sight. Such a gorgeous soft palette of grays in this photograph. Any lobstah boats moored out in the harbor yet?
