This is the 1 Beaufort Street house plan by Our Town Plans. This plan is 1,605 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It’s got oodles of charm – truly looks like something in Charleston from days gone by. I love these old homes – Upon first glance you’ll see that there is an open living/dining space with a kitchen that is off to itself. Sometimes that is really nice, and I prefer it. Other times I see the advantage to open site lines in an open plan. I guess I love them both, and this is a great mix of the two.
First off… THE PORCH! A generous size over 25′ long and 10′ – that makes furniture placement easy and affords you so many options! It also adds more (outdoor) living space to your square footage – it may not be conditioned but you will be using it, and probably more than you imagine!
On the left side of this plan there is a bedroom in the front with an attached bathroom which is SO NICE. There is also a powder room! The master bedroom/bathroom is in the back of the house separated by a study – It’s a nice cozy space that could be so wonderful if you need a small office or studio, a reading space, nursery… the options are endless! Both bedrooms have great closet space – who doesn’t need that? I like that the washer/dryer is located outside of the bedroom, convenient to everything!
On the right side of this plan is the open living/dining area, then you walk through into a butler’s pantry – can you imagine how nice to have a place with STORAGE? Finally the kitchen is in the back. The kitchen is nice size and with doors that open onto the screened porch – the light… would be FANTASTIC!
The screened porch takes this plan over the top. With doors into the bedrooms and kitchen to catch the breeze on a nice day – heavenly!

I agree Suzanne! I’m surprised this plan doesn’t get the recognition it deserves – This house is so sharp on the exterior – it caught my eye and made me really want to be on that front porch! The house plan is fabulous, making this house feel larger than its square footage. With two bedrooms, each with a private bath + a powder room AND a study (or nursery, etc.) – It’s perfect!
