Keith Thomson. An incredible artist and more! I checked out his website (so interesting!) and absolutely love his paintings. They are so different. They’re fun and spirited. Some of you will remember these funny hair dryers (still in use today) – you know, I wish I had one, ha ha. Then I could have my coffee and read while my hair is drying! #winwin
Rollergirl is a fabulous painting, I absolutely love the pinks, and the different shades, all the little nuances that let you know this is a real place. The different hair styles about the shelving unit near the wash bowls. The person having their hair washed. The sinks with the curve for your neck… the stylists’s chairs and those cool pink chairs with dryers. Reading material at these establishments is a must!
Speaking of reading… Keith is not only an artist, he is also an author. I really want to start with his book, ONCE A SPY. When I contacted Keith regarding this feature, his response made me laugh. We need people in this world that make us laugh. Keith’s books seem to get great reviews!

BIO via UGallery.com:
Keith Thomson is a mixed-media artist whose art is packed with wit, humor, and ingenuity. He began his artistic career as a political cartoonist in the 90’s, a background that is reflected in the sharp storytelling of his artwork. His portfolio relishes in the escapism offered by art; each painting, though realistic in style, presents a scenario with a surreal and, at times, ironic twist. To begin a work, he sketches out his idea using an animation software. Then, he transfers the sketch onto the canvas and finally starts to layer oil paint. In addition to painting, he writes spy novels and nonfiction articles.
BIO via Keith’s website:
Keith Thomson played semi-pro baseball in France and drew editorial cartoons for New York Newsday before becoming a writer. He has written TV commercials, a short film that played in the Sundance Festival and won the Laura Napor Award, feature films for TriStar, Paramount and Disney, and numerous news stories. His novels include the New York Times Best-Selling Once a Spyand 7 Grams of Lead. Apart from hunting for pirate gold, he lives with his family in Alabama.
