This is the old Cigar Factory in Charleston, SC. Just look at the dark brick! It’s an impressive building that has stood the test of time! This stunning building was constructed in 1881 as a cotton manufacturing facility – it also survived the Earthquake of 1886 and in 1903 was leased to the American Cigar Company. At one point they made 1.5 million cigars each day!
In 2014 the Cigar Factory was renovated into a first class building that has a mix of uses from design to restaurants to office space. To name just a few businesses: Fritz Porter, a wonderful design maven (don’t miss it if you’re in Charleston, SC and love design!) is a place we like to pop into and walk around to see wonderful finds – antique or not, all are pretty fabulous.
Mercantile and Mash looks like a cool restaurant, we’ll have to visit some time! Check out the menu!

Is this toward North Charleston, perhaps down East Bay Street, Barbara?
