This is our favorite room in the house. It always has been. I’ve written about it before – the perfect place to feel like you’re outdoors, yet cozily indoors. It’s where I love to spend time reading, or talking on the phone, or, or, or…

Charlie 🐾 loves the abundance of light. He starts out in the doorway, where the sun first hits and moves as the sun moves. He’s got a dog bed for when he’s in this room, although when we’re also in this room he prefers to be up on the ottoman (hence the sheepskin).

We opted for a casual setting with mid-century modern furniture from DWR. Tricorn black paint (Sherwin Williams) around older windows and ceiling. We saw this rug online at New England Loom (they post new rugs every Sunday evening). This rug is perfection. Absolutely the perfect colors for this room.

Do you have a favorite space? A place you like to head to with a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea? Perhaps a place to read or work? We all love what we love. For us, we like to mix a little mid-century modern with some pine antiques with clean lines. Nothing too fussy, and not too much stuff. #stuffmakesmecrazy
