Isn’t this the sweetest guest suite? It would also make the perfect WFH office area, studio, etc. The options are endless. It’s a small but convenient space that would be a dream in your backyard. Of course, it’s perfect if you have guests, so they have their own space. But what if you don’t have many guests? STILL a great option!
This is the Guest Cottage (18409L2-G) plan by Allison Ramsey Architects. This plan is (a small, but mighty) 240 square feet. We don’t have a lot of guests, but if we did, this would be a dream. I would use it as a studio if I were an artist (it might get me back painting again, ha ha). Also perfect as a yoga studio, exercise room and for those of you who are working from home – what a dream! You could put some chairs underneath the carport and use it like a porch (if not parking a car).
With this plan you walk into a great room with a sink (and maybe a mini fridge) – perfect to set up your coffee pot and have a little something in the fridge. Storage, a nice bathroom, and an outdoor storage room for your yard tools, etc. The commute “to work” would be amazing. I wish I could build this for Fred. How fun!
For those of you thinking about major home renovations (so many of you are) – wouldn’t this be great to live in while you’re renovating. Most renovations are best if you’re not in the house (the fumes, the noise, the dust). It would be convenient to be close. Small but doable for sure. This plan has so much charm, I absolutely love it!
