Green smoothies. Many are very (very) green tasting, some are very acidic, I just haven’t found one I love, until now… I took the green smoothie recipe from Vitamix and changed it a bit. It came out delightful (and packed with goodness)! With just a few ingredients and the flip of a switch, breakfast is served!
Let me just say… I LOVE the color of this smoothie! Farrow & Ball, Benjamin Moore, etc. need to color match and name it Going Green Smoothie!
This recipe, contained the following ingredients- (makes 1 smoothie):
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 fresh peach, washed, pitted, with peel
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
This is the Going Green Smoothie recipe by Vitamix, the only thing I changed is that I used a fresh peach instead of 1 cup of green grapes.
Yesterday I used almond milk (vanilla, unsweetened), a handful of carrot slice, two big handfuls of spinach, a peach and two frozen bananas (for 2 of us). Utter heaven…
The day prior to that I added frozen blueberries and didn’t have a peach to the above recipe – it tasted good but was visually unappealing. Which was fine, because, like I said – it tasted fabulous.
I love drinking my breakfast – I’m much better at eating in the morning if I can drink it. Definitely MUCH better at getting extra veggies/fruits in the mix early in the day. This kept me going far longer than I anticipated. #winwin
👩💻 Until next time…
