Kelly Carmody. Her work is fabulous. I love her interiors, her florals, portraits, landscapes – but to me, this tells a story, and I’ve been on a kick lately about paintings that tell a story. The body language is fabulous, there is action and possibly tension and definite interest in whatever the subject is.
I like the darker, more dramatic setting – and the light on each person’s face. There is determination. Whatever is going on could be trivial or something more serious. It fascinates me to think of how many stories can come from a single painting. This is one you could look at forever and it would always get your mind going.
Oh, to be able to paint like Kelly! I cannot imagine. If you feel the same way and would like to learn from Kelly, check out the “Classes” link below. The Grenning Gallery has some beautiful paintings of Kelly’s (as do a few other galleries). Be sure to take a peek!
