OH! The drama, right? Doesn’t this remind you of a Chinese Lantern, but with a bit more color? It’s so vibrant against the green, isn’t it? I took this photo while out and about in Mount Pleasant, SC – at a cool design shop filled with beautiful things… including plants, flowers, urns, and more!
We were walking around Elizabeth Stuart Design (ESD) when I spotted what looked to me like a Chinese Lantern. When I came home and Googled it – I see they’re more solid orange. What I found showed this plant is a Red Vein Indian Mallow (Abutilon striatum). Pretty cool, eh? I read about it various sites on the internet.
I love running across new and interesting things, don’t you? Have you ever seen this plant? Have any experience with it? #tellme
👩💻 Until next time…

How fabulous they are! The only Mallow I have ever known is the variety I planted in my yard and regretted doing it for years.
The most aggressive plant I have ever met.

😳 Oh no! Good to know up front for sure! We didn’t buy one, just admired its bright color, ha ha. We have had plants that have turned out to be aggressive. Even one plant that I saw at Home Depot that was all different colors (not sure why I bought it) – brought it home and Googled it. It’s a major weed that as you walk with it can be dropping seeds and it can take over your yard 😳 Got rid of it {{carefully}}… Good grief! Happy weekend to you!
