Featured Artist: Colin Page Show at Anglin Smith Fine Art in Charleston, SC!

Backyard Farmer by Colin Page 40″ x 30″ O/C

Colin Page is an artist who has mastered his craft. Who can paint whatever he sets out to. He’s developed his own unique style. It’s not easy to have a style that is noticeably your very own. Colin’s work is more than just painting what he sees, he paints what he feels. This painting screams SUMMER to me. I can hear the screened door slam shut, the chickens cluck, and hear a laugh from the young girl with bare feet. The background of beautiful greens are a delight.

We missed the opening when Colin was in town. Colin Page is such an amazing artist (and human). If you ever get a chance to see his work in person, please make the effort. It’s a visual treat for the senses. More information about the show which goes through May 18, 2025!

Friday, May 2nd there was a show at Anglin Smith Fine Art with Colin Page and Jessica Lee Ives. Both fantastic artists, whose work I admire.

If you’re in the Charleston, SC area, be sure to visit Anglin Smith Fine Art (9 Queen Street, Charleston). If you’re in the Camden, Maine area, be sure to stop in The Page Gallery (23 Bay View Street). The Page Gallery is on our bucket list. It’s been many years since we visited Maine. Next time we do, we’ll be sure to stop in!

Bio

Colin Page (b. 1977) was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. He lives and works in Camden, Maine and opened Page Gallery in 2019.

Colin Page plays within the bounds of value to use an abundance of color. Whether working on location or in the studio, Colin strives to capture the atmosphere and light of a scene. Colin paints the Maine landscape and scenes that show his life as a father. Bravo, Colin! Another show well done.

Colin Page’s paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions and group shows nationally, including the Kaiping Museum of Art in China, LA Natural History Museum, Annual Juried Show by the Guild of Boston Artists, Portsmouth Historical Society, Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational, and the Maynard Dixon Camp Out by the Thunderbird Foundation.

Is there anything better than perusing beautiful paintings? I think not. Happy week everyone!
