Monhegan Woods and a Public Service Announcement!

Monhegan, Maine. A beautiful island you may have seen me mention a time or two (ha). There is such a sense of peace when you’re in these woods hiking the wonderful trails.

The sunlight peeking through and the various green plants and trees are so stunning. It looks magical in this photo, doesn’t it? It is! If you haven’t visited the island before and you’re looking for something different, I highly recommend Monhegan, but be sure to read about it prior to visiting. There isn’t a lot of shopping, no TV’s in the rooms, no telephones, and can I say… thank goodness! I think it’s important to become untethered from reality sometimes – especially social media. Here’s to more reading and less Facebook and other social media.

 ⚠ WARNING: Public Service Announcement!

If you missed my post about BRAIN HACKING and if you didn’t already see it on CBS – please take a minute to watch (or read) it now – it’s enlightening.Take time to get outside and walk – run – paint – take photos – or just sit. Our lives are passing us by at an alarming rate while we look at our devices. Me included. Don’t miss out. Take the time to unplug. You deserve it!

    1. Thank you Alan! You know the area, it’s so beautiful but sometimes hard to capture just HOW beautiful it really is. I’m glad you noticed the little things, like the filtered sunlight which makes it extra special to me 🙂

  1. And once you have unplugged, come stay with me and live without electricity. When I first came to the Island in 1981, it was the experience of no electricity that I found to be the most perfect complement to the experience of those most humbling woodlands. Those hikes, that air, the bending light, the color of an endless sky, the Milky Way to blanket your sweet dreamy sleep, come to find your quiet and leave with your peace.
