I was looking through old Maine photos the other day and ran across this image. People ask, “what do you do on Monhegan?” – well, if you aren’t hiking, or eating, you may be sitting in a chair wherever you’re staying – looking out over the water – watching the goats on Manana. I love this island and the relative stillness of the water, and the peacefulness that exudes from this image.

This photo was taken from the Island Inn lawn looking towards Manana (the island you see across the water). Many evenings have been spent taking photos of sunsets in this area. They are STUNNING!
