I absolutely love the deep vibrant blue of the sky against the wild green on the buoys. Such a striking combination. This photo was taken a few years ago before Trap Day on Monhegan Island (Maine).
🌸 Note: Images will be returning to email notifications soon – WordPress is working on it!
I mentioned that this photo was taken before Trap Day – Trap Day is the day the lobstermen (and women) head out on the water for the first day of the season. There is so much work done before that happens, and when we’re on the island in September, many lobster people were hard at work preparing. It’s hard work – you have to be strong and you have to be smart if you want to make it! I read a good article about Trap Day from New England Today.
Like so many others we are missing our vacation(s) this year. Covid19 is keeping us home – stopping the spread to slow down a pandemic is worth it. It doesn’t mean we don’t miss the places we had hoped to go… we do. It will just be that much sweeter when the day comes to head out… anywhere, but first to see my family!
On another note… Hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend! I’ll be posting some favorite photos this week, back to normal posts next week – stay tuned! Enjoy and #staysafe!
✍️ Until next time…
