A Quick & Delicious PIZZA Dinner!

Pizza, it’s a quick dinner to throw together, especially when you have the right ingredients on hand. Pair this with a fabulous salad and you will have a memorable evening! The crust is the secret…

The “pizza crust” was purchased at Trader Joe’s – it’s more of a longer, narrow flatbread. Once you have your ingredients assembled, making the pizza is quick and baking is even quicker! Below is a guide, use more of what you like, omit the ingredients that don’t thrill you and add anything that sounds good! There are truly so many options!

We added great flavors that compliment each other. These are the ingredients I prepped:

  • 1-2 pieces of bacon until crispy, crumbled (microwave is a good time saver)
  • 2-3 mushrooms, cleaned, and sliced fairly thin – or chopped
  • red onion, diced
  • kalamata olives, diced
  • 3-4 artichoke hearts, drained, dried & diced
  • red pepper flakes
  • pizza sauce (I used Whole Foods 365 brand)
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded

Take flatbread pizza crust out of package, I blot olive oil on a paper towel and rub the bottom and top of the crust lightly. Next step is the pizza sauce, whatever brand sounds good to you, then I add a sprinkle of parmesan around the edge of the crust (it’ll stick to the olive oil) and sometimes I lightly sprinkle over the crust. Top with mozzarella – I’m not a fan of too much cheese, but I don’t want bare spots, ha ha. Then sprinkle remaining ingredients, I usually sprinkle the bacon last.

I heat my oven to 400℉, and will often leave my baking sheet in the oven while it comes to temp. Then I slide the pizza that I’ve assembled, onto the hot baking sheet (BE CAREFUL, IT’S HOT!) and put the baking sheet back in the oven. Bake for about 8 minutes (my oven). Keep an eye on it, all ovens are a bit different.

What you pull out of the oven will make you smile. I served it with a nice side salad with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Couldn’t be easier – or more delicious and it comes together so quickly! #enjoy
