SNOW DAY!

Step and walkway covered in snow, early morning darkness, wrought iron railing, mushroom light with icicles

SNOW DAY! I know this amount of snow isn’t much to many of you who live in climates that regularly receive snow in total amounts that far surpass the amount we’ve received in Charleston, SC (and are still receiving) – I’ve read the comments on many posts with snarky responses. #itsnotacontest

The first time we had snow in Charleston, I hopped in the car. This Michigan girl knows how to drive in snow. Problem is the underlying layer is ice, therefore no one has control, you’re at the mercy of the ice.

Stay home if you can. Everything is closed today anyway. We made a big pot of chili yesterday (oh so good!) and a blueberry cobbler 😋. I mixed up some sourdough and woke up at 4:15AM got it ready for the oven and whoa, does it ever smell divine in this house!!

Stay warm, stay home, check on your neighbors.

❄️Until next time…

Hi Barb: I heard you all were getting snow yesterday. Oh boy, I remember when we lived in Charleston area in 1989, we had snow on Christmas, if I remember correctly, I think it was a lot of snow too. We are having here in Jersey a bitter cold weather the last couple of days. This morning, it was -6 degrees….yikes! That what you expect in January, right? Have a warm cozy day and that sourdough bread, I can smell it from here! Yum!

    1. Maryanne! -6, good grief! That’s a tad chillier than Charleston ;) We are having 4-5 days of temps below zero, so… Note to self: a snow shovel would be handy, ha ha. Toasty in the house and have had the stove/oven on which makes it cozy. Woke up at 4:23 to make the bread, no way could I go back to sleep when it was snowing like crazy, ha ha. Miss you!
