Mums! They’re everywhere signaling fall has officially arrived, cooler air is on the horizon and shorter days are coming soon, woohoo! These mums are more than just pretty, very temporary decor on your front porch, oh no… they’re so much more!

I love a little vase filled with snippets of mums (from the bottom, out of the way where you can’t tell they’ve been snipped). The last a surprisingly long time. I actually used a pretty (and small) jar I had saved for broken blooms that don’t fit in a regular vase, they’re always a treasure.

Another idea that I saw a friend of mine do – PLANT THE MUM when it’s done blooming. Instead of tossing it, plant it somewhere. It will be beautiful and a little more wild looking. How brilliant! I have always hesitated to buy mums because I hate the thought of having to toss them, but now, we don’t have to!

This mum was a gift from a friend. Thank you, friend! It’s been lovely!!

Don’t forget to move your clocks BACK one hour – you’re going to gain an hour of sleep, which for those of you up at 3AM “it will be the new” 2AM, woohoo… ugh. Gotta love spring forward/fall back.
