Healthy LEMON, GINGER, HONEY Tea or Shot Mix!

I read about this 💫 magical mixture that you store in a glass jar. It sounded like ingredients that I love, so I gave it a try. WOW! Delicious! Lemon, ginger, honey, cayenne pepper. And… the benefits were outstanding. How can you say no to something that boost immunity, aids digestions and increases metabolism? Good for sore throat, circulation, detoxification and more…

🍋 The lemon provides Vitamin C (immune system)

🫚 Ginger (anti-inflammatory + aids in digestion)

🍯 Honey (provides energy naturally + soothes throat irritation when you’re not feeling great)

🌶️ Cayenne Pepper – the spice: (capsaicin + boost metabolism/improves circulation) – you can leave this out!

This is my second batch (I love having one or two hot teas each day with a big spoonful of the honey/lemon/ginger).

Note: I’ve read that if you’re on blood thinners you may want to check with your doctor regarding the ginger. I am not a health professional.

When I first made this I made it in a jelly jar with 1 organic lemon + a good bit of ginger. I just made a double batch in a larger Ball canning jar using 2 lemons and a good bit of ginger (more than first time).

The above image was a double batch…

Lemon, Ginger, Honey Mix (shot or spoonful in hot water for tea)

  • 1 *Organic lemon, washed and sliced thin (including peel) – ends trimmed off
  • Ginger, peeled with a spoon and thinly sliced (I’ve read many recipes some use a lot of ginger, some use a single knob for a humongous batch, so go with what you like. You can always start with a bit less and add more.
  • Local Honey, enough to cover the slices in a glass jar.

*You want to buy an Organic lemon so there isn’t a coating on the lemon (and lack of pesticides is nice too), because don’t peel the lemon. Wash the lemon, dry, cut off the ends and then thinly slice it.

I peel the ginger with a spoon, works great. Thinly slice.

Layer in a jar: organic lemon, ginger, honey and repeat until the lemon and ginger are all in the jar. Make sure it’s covered with honey. *Buy local honey – it helps with allergy symptoms too.

I read to let sit in cool, dark place for 3 days, stirring daily (I made it 2 days and it was fine). You can spoon some (1-2 tablespoons) into a mug and add hot water, give it a stir and ENJOY! Or you can just drink a spoonful/ “shot”. It’s delicious and I’ve really been enjoying it before bed (or when you sit down to watch TV in the evening).

Note: I store in the refrigerator and give it a stir every day. I’m delighted that it tastes so darn good!

I first read about wonderful concoction from Dr. Caitlin Czezowski (Facebook). I then read about it from many different sites. There is so much information to be had!

🍵 Until next time… ✨ Take a moment to be grateful for at least one thing today – TODAY will be a good day, you’ve got this!
