Book Suggestion: Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center!

Are you looking to go on an adventure – maybe an adventurous hike without leaving your house? Well, have I got the book for you. Also, the movie is on Netflix and it was good. The book was better and I highly suggest reading the book before seeing the movie it will make more sense. Another great, uplifting book with characters that have challenged themselves for different reasons, while causing laughter along the way.

A wonderful book that you will breeze right through!

Description of this book from the Katherine Center’s website:

About The Book

Could she change the story of her life?

It was time. Helen Carpenter knew that. Thirty-two and divorced for a year, Helen knew it was time—past time—to pull herself together. She needed to do something wild and adventurous and completely out of character. Which is why she signed up for a wilderness survival course in Wyoming.

Thus begins the strangest adventure of Helen Carpenter’s well-behaved life: three weeks in a remote mountain range where she will survive a summer blizzard, a group of sorority girls, rutting season for the elk, and more than one infuriating man. Yet, despite the hardships and the indignities, the mountains bring their own wisdom to Helen’s life, somehow teaching her the very things she needs to learn. Like how to stand up for yourself. How being scared can make you brave. How the things you hold on to become the story of your life. And, maybe most of all, how sometimes you just have to get really, really lost before you even have a hope of being found.

My review on Goodreads:

Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center

4.7 stars. I absolutely loved the adventure of reading this book. You are right there with them hiking trails and seeing stunning vistas all from the comfort of your own home. I will say when I first started the book it seemed a little slow to me, but quickly ramped up and the characters developed into the perfect compilation of personalities headed out on a major adventure. One that I would no way be interested in taking, ha ha – but what a ride. LOVED this book, I think you will too! Next stop: The movie on Netflix which prompted me to read the book first!
