Featured Artist: Peter Brown!

Christmas at Combe Park 2016 by Peter Brown Oil 30×25″

Peter Brown – a fabulous artist from the UK. I can look at his paintings all day long. Each one captures a bit of life – the featured painting Christmas at Combe Park is such a great depiction of Christmas morning, after everything has been opened and everyone is discovering their new gifts. I love the lights on the walls near the ceiling and on the bannister. I also love the depth in this painting. It’s interesting and it keeps your interest!

Read a bit about Peter, from his website:

Peter first came to Bath for a year in 1986 to study an art foundation course. He went on to graduate from Manchester Polytechnic, returning to the city in 1993. Inspired by the architecture and life of the town, he has become a familiar figure painting the city’s streets as well as in all the other cities and towns in which he now works (such as London, Oxford, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chichester, Henley-on-Thames etc.).
He rarely paints in the studio preferring to work directly from the subject on site in sometimes the foulest of weathers. He works in charcoal, oil and pastel for which he has received numerous awards at various national exhibitions.

He is a member of The New English Art Club, The Pastel Society, The Royal institute of Oil Painters and Bath Society of Artists.

Peter, his wife, Lisa and their 5 children: Ollie, Toby, Hattie, Ella and Edward live in Bath.

In 2006 Peter was invited to be the first Artist in Residence at The Savoy Hotel, London
