The Memories That Gardenias Bring…

Gardenias have the most wonderful scent – I approach our yard after a walk and smell them wafting in the air. Gardenias are special to me…

Years ago, someone gave us a gardenia when our Jack Russell, Reginald, passed away. It was delivered from a florist and it was beautiful. But after a period of time it didn’t seem happy in the house. The leaves were very shiny and I questioned whether or not it would make it outside, but it clearly wasn’t happy inside, so… we planted it where we see it out of our sunroom windows. It took off. It was so happy in that spot. I swear Reggie has something to do with these gardenias. If someone is sick or sad, or worried about something guess what happens? A gardenia blooms. Usually just one, and it’s not when they normally bloom. It’s so cool! I take it to be his way of saying…

HELLO! I’m HERE, you’re there, I’m having a blast and I’ll see you when you get here… NO RUSH!

Whew, I’m glad he added the #norush part, hehe. It’s funny how flowers can evoke memories. I’ll hang tight to mine. Reggie was a sweetie!

✍️Until next time…
