Thanksgiving is in 3 days. We’re at the end of the road so to speak. Time to make a decision on what to do. #visitwithfamilyandfriends or #stayhome What can you say? 2020 – it’s be “a year” of difficult choices all around.
Of course, what I’m referring to is the current COVID19 Pandemic that has been wrecking havoc for the past nine months. Instead of getting better it’s been getting worse (as I write this) – much worse. 1 million new cases in 6 days. Over ONE Million is a ridiculous number that puts our precious healthcare workers at jeopardy, not to mention the rest of us. To hear their stories, what they’re going through – it makes this decision easy (for me). As much as we would like to visit with friends and family (🙋♀️ Hi Friends! Hi Family!), we just cannot risk it, so we’re staying home.
Aren’t we fun? 🙄
As I write this, I do want to mention that last weekend, while running to the grocery store and Target, I noticed just how many people were doing the right thing. They got out of their car, put on their mask, headed into the store just like it was the most normal thing to do. #blessyourhearts is what first came to mind. You’re all doing all you can do to keep yourself and others safe. We are getting through this together, each wearing our masks and keeping our distances. It’s not easy for us, we never grew up wearing masks, so it felt very odd when it all first started. Now, you don’t even think about it. Job. Well. Done. #stillcantwaituntilitsover
Sometimes you come to the end of the road and need to make a decision. Everyone is doing what they can. It stinks for all of us. I haven’t seen my family in over a year. That has never happened before. It breaks my heart but I cannot think of a safe way to do it that will not put them or us at risk.
As of this writing, there are two possible vaccines on the horizon that are close to the next step… but even once it comes out, we need to continue wearing a mask, social distancing, etc. etc. – it can take up to a month for a vaccine to work for you, and there is a small percentage of people who it will not work for. So the experts are saying we will likely be wearing masks/social distancing for pretty much all of 2021.
So if you can stay home this Thanksgiving, do it. Make next year’s Thanksgiving the best ever, can you imagine? 🙏🦃💃
✍️ Until tomorrow…
Thanks for reinforcing what we all know we need to do, we are doing the same, but will make phone calls to folks who I have not be so great at calling, we all appreciate a phone or text, trying to keep up with folks and neighbors who are having issues, but the most powerful thing we can do is talk to Jesus and say prayers and thankful for all we do have🙏📿😉

You are both so good at reaching out (in word and deed) to friends and neighbors (not to mention family) – sometimes it’s the briefest exchange that can mean the world. A smile 😊 a laugh 😆 I wish a 🤗 and most definitely many prayers! 🙏🙏🙏 #keeponkeepinon 🙌😘🤓
