Missing this view…

The view from a cottage in Port Clyde, Maine…

I think we can all agree that 2020 was a hell of a year. We stayed right here, still haven’t been anywhere. I know it’s a small price to pay, but it hasn’t been easy. I cannot wait to get to MI to see my family. I can’t wait for them to get here to see us, and I am certainly missing this view from a cottage we rented in Port Clyde, Maine. The sound of the surf. I want it back. Right now, please 😉

It’s Spring in Charleston, SC. There is no prettier time (if you look past the clouds of pollen). Everything is in bloom and it smells SO GOOD! Still… there is something about Maine that has always drawn us there from the very first trip. ANY of you who have been to Maine and have felt that similar pull knows exactly what I mean.

I think we have more friends that live in Maine, ha ha. We know a crazy amount of people, and I think the world of each of them. There have been times where a move has been mentioned, then crossed off the list once we start really thinking about it. I suppose that’s normal. One of our Maine friends (hey, K!) tells us we do not want to move to Maine… Hmmm.

Nothing is ever out of the question, and there is always a possibility – I torture myself with this every year, but normally it doesn’t hit until summertime. When the heat has cooked my brain and it’s really a move out of necessity (haha). Kidding! We have air conditioning here in South Carolina as well as a refreshing pool that truly beats the heat. So I’m not really complaining – just looking back through old photos (this one is about ten years old) – and this snaps everything back for me. The smell of clean air, the waves lapping against the shore, the sunrises (holy cow!), the wonderful food everywhere you go and the people.

Where is a place that brings you peace, joy and happiness?

✍️ Until next time…
