This is a new plan by Moser Design Group for Southern Living House Plans. It’s a fabulous plan designed with flexibility in mind. This Adaptive Cottage plan allows you to age in place in style! Aging isn’t something we all want to think about, but if you’re making a major investment in your life, it’s a bonus if it can be a good fit for as long as possible. The front porch of this plan is so nice, and a good size! There is also a back screened porch, located off the kitchen, which I love! What a nice plan with so many options! It’s one story, so it’s great as you age – also if you need someone to live with you, there is space to make that happen.
This is the Adaptive Cottage House Plan (TNH SC 63) by Moser Design Group for Southern Living (SL 2075) – this plan is 1,966 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. This home was designed in conjunction with the Parkinson’s Foundation (and Moser Design Group is donating 10% of the proceeds to the Parkinson’s Foundation!) 🙌
When you enter this home, you enter into the open living/kitchen space (with pantry!) – as I mentioned the kitchen opens onto a screened porch off the back of the house! What I would use as a bedroom would be on the front (or the back) of the house – both have a nice bathroom and closet space. *Bonus: I could even switch between using the front and the back bedrooms – which I love. haha.
Flexroom 1 is what I would use as a reading room or maybe a small den, a nice quiet place to getaway (if I wasn’t on the porch!) – there is a nice utility room and hallway with closets towards the back of the house. When you look at this plan you will notice ample closet space, which is so nice (coming from someone with NOT a lot of storage – they didn’t build closets very big in the 1930’s!)
