Furniture moving can make your space brand new!

This is a snippet of the (original) living room that was previously the dining room… last week we moved the rooms around again – changed the furniture – and it’s like new! This is now the living room again. It’s so refreshing to walk into a space that has been completely transformed. This shot mainly showcases the view of the gorgeous trees and oh! The shadow on the wall from the sunlight on the sheepskin – Love it! Nothing like shopping your own home to find treasures and furniture, paintings etc. to change your views!

We love are more minimalistic, I would venture to say. We’ve had SO MANY configurations of rooms, with so many different pieces of furniture over the years (we have a thing with good furniture). We’ve gone through the antique phase, the collection phase, the lots-of-stuff phase, the so-much-furniture-you-could-hardly pass phase and we ended on this more modern (with some antiques in the mix) “situation” we have going on right now. We had two of these Modell 711 chairs that we purchased from DWR originally in our sunroom. So the sunroom has been robbed of furniture (not completely) for now, but we have a special something or two on the way…

Add to this stunning chair a sheepskin throw in “Vole” – you’ll see the larger ones still on her (Erin French from the Lost Kitchen) site: FINDTHELOSTKITCHEN.COM – sheepskin can elevate the look of pretty much anything!

We only keep our very favorite things out – A book by Deliah Owens – Where the Crawdads Sing, which has almost 2 MILLION reviews on Goodreads.com – I’ve NEVER seen a book come anywhere near that number of reviews. Ever. It was AH-mazing, if you haven’t read it, I highly suggest it! Candles are magnificent, but have you ever had a candle with a wooden wick? The sound of the flickering is so wonderful. Our favorite right now is the Eucalyptus Mint candle by Near & Native. You can also send back your empty containers and they will refill them!

One last mention, the hearts and crosses by Barbara Biel – and the little wooden crosses found at a local design shop add to the things we love. What are some of your favorite things?

👩‍💻 Until next time…

  1. This space looks beautiful. While minimalist, it feels warm not cold like minimalist can. The red in the rug is probably helping, it’s beautiful. The art looks lovely on the walls as well as those shadows. I love your black windows and those trees are just so gorgeous!

Earlier this year I read Where the Crawdads Sing and absolutely love it.

    1. Thank you Jamie, what a wonderful compliment! We love our house and have fun changing it (i.e. room/furniture/lighting, etc.) The windows are relatively new and we are loving them! 🙌 Where the Crawdads Sing! Can’t believe I almost didn’t read that book… loved it so much! Have a great weekend!

      1. My mom used to change up our house while I was growing up. For some reason I never change mine. Maybe it’s time for a little facelift. I love hearing your book recommendations, glad you didn’t pass up Where the Crawdads Sing! I still think of that book months later, it had an impact.

      2. Yes, Crawdads did have an impact. It’s amazing how many reviews it has received! It’s fun to move lamps, paintings, accessories (not everyone can move their dining room into their living room and vice versa, ha ha) – my husband never used to move furniture, now sometimes he’s the one that wants to do it. #woohoo
