This is the River Place Cottage (SL1959) by Watermark Coastal Homes for Southern Living. This plan is 2,420 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. This is an open plan with a few defined areas to get away, which is so nice! Watermark Coastal Homes is located in Beaufort, SC – their homes define Lowcountry living!

I love that you walk into an open kitchen, living, dining area with access to the screened porch (absolute perfection)! The person who is in the kitchen can be involved in all aspects of entertaining – which this house plan is fabulous for! While it’s nice to all be together, it’s nice to sneak away with a good book on occasion, the study area is perfection and I can see making it a cozy room where I would be often if not in the kitchen or the screened porch!

The primary bedroom is in the back left of the house and is wonderfully private. I do LOVE that the closet isn’t in the bathroom. It may be OK but something tells me that moisture and a closet don’t go hand in hand. I like my closet to be separate (and a nice size it is!)

The laundry area is located near the rear foyer, which is close enough to the primary bedroom and not nestled on the other side of a kitchen where you have to wrangle your way around with clothes baskets, etc. to get to the washer/dryer. It’s close enough to the primary without being IN the primary (as ours is right now… at first I thought it was so convenient, but dryers produce dust no matter what you do, so…) this is the ultimate situation.

Upstairs there is a nice gallery area, two bedrooms with a shared bathroom – and… TADA… LOOK AT THE STORAGE SPACE! There is a crazy (wonderful!!) amount of storage space, and who couldn’t use that?
