Believe it or not, these are not a variety of oranges. They’re limes. I don’t recall the name on the tag, I’m thinking they may be mixed with orange/lime? Interesting, hmmm? When I saw how the sun was hitting the fruit I had to take a quick snap. You see these mainly planted in large (gorgeous) containers. We’ve seen them at a few places we’ve visited. Stunning for sure!
I love what makes us different (Charleston, SC) versus where I grew up (Michigan). I love everything Michigan has to offer (well, except for icy roads and “black snow”) – I love grey days, don’t mind rain a bit, however I can understand when people get tired of days and days of dreary weather. To me, sun can make me feel the same way. I need some grey days, some days without the sun. That being said, sun is very appreciated on a chilly day, it can warm you right up. I also love that our “cold weather” is not typical “cold weather”, there is no scraping of windows or shoveling of snow to be dealt with. And… in the cold weather, we still have flowers blooming, and citrus bright and beautiful.
I was able to get out to walk around a small design shop near us (where I took this image). I could follow the paved path in the garden section but had to skip some of it because this shoe/boot can’t handle the small rocks (broken foot). Day 18 and I finally got out of the house for a short meander. It sure felt good, sun and all!
Happy winter to you – if you’re somewhere cold, hang in there! For me, I’m doing the happy dance with this cold weather. #allbundledup
Time to make a pot of soup, right, warm the innards?
