Where was I when I took this photo? Is it a close up of a rocky surface mimicking mountains or taken from a distance with actual mountains. HOW can the sunrise be so bright and magnificent? We were out of town a while back, and let me tell you, the views were astounding! Take a guess where we were…

This photo was taken with my phone, early one morning, capturing another mesmerizing sunrise from our outdoor porch. One sunrise after another, after another. I could not wait to wake up and see what was waiting for me (or usually, I was waiting on it out of pure anticipation!)

This photo was taken in Waynesville, NC, at a wonderful place, The Swag. The high elevation of 5,000 feet adds so much (including much cooler temps in the summer vs. Charleston!). Air that never felt cleaner. A special quiet (especially when blanketed with snow!) that warms your soul (along with the fireplaces and plentiful wood!). We had the best time. We look forward to our visits for months and it’s hard to leave but always good to be home.

We’re very thankful. We had the best time, as always. I’ll probably be sharing a few more glimpses of the beauty that awaits!
