This Spring Normandy Farms Bakery begins a new venture – This wonderful old building (a bank for the past 150 years) is taking on new life. The first floor will be a casual restaurant called THE ROOM. Mike Ray (owner of Normandy Farms Bakery) and Ben Johnson will take over the space and make it all their own.
We are so fortunate to live in Charleston, SC. The food scene is over the top amazing. This will be a great addition! More info from CharlestonEater.com!

Pretty as a picture. Love this lavender on a home downtown (Rainbow Row). One thing you will see in Charleston, SC are colorful homes. Not all of them, but they do fit rather nicely in the tropical climate. The shadows on this home are stunning!

Morning Walk – I think these look so Easterly! So I thought I would fit them into this week of photos.
Hope you’ve all had a nice Easter weekend/Spring Break/Time Off/Time Working…
Happy Monday!

I took this photo years ago – Fresh flowers hanging on the gate at a church downtown really shows you how special this day is! Easter!
If you happen to be in Charleston, SC on Easter and the weather is nice, get out and take some photos, there is magic here in Charleston!
A nice shot for Easter weekend. This is St. Michael’s Church in Charleston, SC.
Charleston has many beautiful, historic churches and St. Michael’s is one of them!
Enjoy your Saturday, happy Easter Eve! Tomorrow is a big day! ✝️
The reason I’ve been posting photos is because I’ve been under the weather. 😷🤒Nothing drastic, just a horrible cold. This week I am feeling better, but playing catch up – so I will be back to normal posting next week! But… stay tuned, I have some great photos this week!
What do you tend to eat when you have a cold? I didn’t feel energetic enough to whip up a pot of homemade chicken noodle soup, so Fred stopped on his way home from work and picked up some Egg Drop Soup from Red Orchids Bistro (in Charleston, SC). It was delicious. It lasted two days. It was perfect!
What else have I been eating? At first not much, too much time sneezing and coughing, but I did eat an orange each day which was delicious! Toast… scrambled egg, a lot of green tea, regular tea and fruit popsicles.
Wondering what YOU eat? Do you make something or order out? The ingredients in canned chicken noodle soup gives me the willies, yet it tastes the best, sadly. Unless you’re going to make your own of course!
More art, recipes and house plans next week…
I believe that even the uglier things in life are interesting. When I saw this I thought about something (somewhere?) I read recently. A gallery didn’t want to accept paintings from an artist if they had power lines in them. They said that it dates the painting. Hmmm. Interesting. I think we’re long away from not seeing any power lines – and personally, I like to see when artists paint them in, I think it adds a nice touch – gives the painting character!

The azaleas began blooming in January. Normally you will see a few azalea’s blooming at an off time, but our entire street is filled with blooming azaleas, and it’s stunning! I just don’t recall it happening so early!
Enjoy the beauty while you can!
Love the shadows from the palms on this beautiful and stately home. I also think the peek of blue sky is pretty cool!
Keep an eye out for the little things that make you smile – the little things really are the big things!

First of all… beautiful shadows, ha ha… they always catch my eye!
Fred and I were walking around downtown and we walked by this church, how interesting is this? It was established in 1682 in Kittery, Maine and moved to this site in Charleston, SC in 1699! (The congregation immigrated Charleston)!
Interested in the history of this church (it IS interesting!)?? Click HERE.

“Sunday Paper” – a beautiful gate and, oh!, the landscaping!
It’s such fun to walk and be able to snap a photo or two (or 100) – no matter where you are, there are so many beautiful sites. I always regret not taking my phone, that’s when I see the most magical things, like a turtle the size of a quarter trying to walk across the Greenway (where people and bikes are moving rapidly) – luckily Fred saw it and helped the little guy across. Also saw a hawk dive into the ditch and come up with a critter 😳 – yes, there are some things I wish I did not see… Ugh!

The other day we headed downtown to walk, the weather was beautiful and we decided to cover some different territory! Along the way I snapped a few (😉) photos. This gate is magnificent isn’t it? Look at all the work that went into it. Truly a piece of art! It’s not easy to see from this photo, but the shadows are amazing, as I’m sure you can imagine!
Enjoy your Sunday!!
