Grandma’s Ham & Cabbage with Potatoes and Carrots…

This is a comforting recipe that is especially good when the weather is chilly. My “recipes” are more like guides – add more of what you like and less of what you don’t. That’s how you come up with the very best results!

My grandma was a great cook, I always loved when she made “ham and cabbage”, much to my sister’s horror… thankfully I didn’t get the (too) picky-food-eating gene… Whew!

This is quick to whip up, prep-wise. It makes the house smell like a home. When you sit down to eat you’ll take a bite, and say ahhhhh…. it tastes like coming home! My grandma always slathered butter on it. It does add great flavor (real butter, grass-fed if you can) – I use just a tiny bit, maybe 1/4 teaspoon, but that’s all it needs. Those carrots add so much don’t they! Flavor and beauty! Enjoy and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow!
